Overview
About PMSSWCAPFAR
The Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme for the Wards of Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles is run by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. It was introduced in the 2006-07 academic year to support higher technical and professional education for the families of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assam Rifles personnel.
The scheme pays a cash benefit each year, credited directly to the applicant's bank account through direct benefit transfer. It supports the dependent wards and widows of CAPF and Assam Rifles personnel, with girls and boys funded at different annual rates. The assistance can run for up to five years of a first professional degree in fields such as engineering, medicine and management.
Applications are made online through the National Scholarship Portal at scholarships.gov.in, where eligible students apply and renew their scholarship for each year of study.
