Overview

About PREMSC

This is a pre-matric scholarship for Scheduled Caste students in the union territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, covering study in Classes IX and X. It is run by the Department of Social Welfare of the UT administration, which invites and processes applications through the National Scholarship Portal.

The scheme sits within the wider Pre-Matric Scholarship framework for SC students, whose stated aim is to reduce dropout at the point where students move from the elementary to the secondary stage. Support comes as cash assistance and associated grants paid to eligible students each year.

It is meant for SC students studying in Classes IX and X at recognised schools in the union territory, subject to a family income limit set by the department. If you fall in that group, you apply online on the National Scholarship Portal following the notice the Social Welfare Department issues for the year.
