Overview

About POSTMSSD

The Post Matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities is administered by the Social Welfare Department of the union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. It is meant for students with benchmark disabilities who have passed matriculation and are continuing into higher secondary, college or professional study.

The support is paid as cash. It combines a maintenance allowance with help toward tuition fees and other study costs, so the expense of studying past Class 10 does not push an eligible student out of the classroom. The exact rates, income conditions and documents required are fixed by the department.

Post-matric scholarships for students with disabilities in India follow the framework of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, part of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, which delivers such support through the National Scholarship Portal. In Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, the Social Welfare Department is the administering body a student applies to.
