Overview

About NSBGS

The NEC Stipend and Book Grant Scheme is funded by the North Eastern Council (NEC), a Government of India body based in Shillong that supports development across the north-eastern states. In Nagaland it is listed and processed through the state Department of Higher Education.

The scheme gives financial support to students from the North Eastern Region who are pursuing higher professional courses. It comes in two cash parts: a stipend towards study costs and a separate grant towards books.

Support is directed at Nagaland-domiciled students in professional courses approved by the NEC and pursued within India. Eligibility is confined to specified categories and to applicants who meet the qualifying-marks and course conditions.
