Scholarship
National Talent Scholarship Postgraduate(NTS-PG)
Overview
About NTS-PG
The National Talent Scholarship (Postgraduate), or NTS-PG, is a merit-based award for students entering master's programmes at India's agricultural universities. It sits under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), part of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, and is run by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), the body that oversees agricultural higher education nationally.
The scholarship is for postgraduate students who take up admission at an agricultural university in a state other than their home state. That out-of-state condition is the core of the scheme. By supporting students who study away from their state of domicile, it is meant to draw talent across regional lines and widen the mix of students at agricultural universities.
The award is a monthly cash scholarship rather than a single grant, paid across the master's programme and tied to full-time enrolment and continued academic standing. The precise amount, tenure, and the full set of conditions are fixed by ICAR.
