Overview

About MMCPY

The Mukhyamantri Medhavi Chhatra Puraskar Yojana is a merit award run by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Uttarakhand. It recognises students who finish among the top rank-holders in their stream, both year by year and as overall stream toppers, at the graduation and post-graduation levels.

The purpose is to reward academic excellence in higher education. The benefit is a cash prize paid to students who secure the first, second, or third position, with the amount linked to the position achieved and whether the student is at graduation or post-graduation level.

It is meant for individual students in Uttarakhand who are studying, or have completed, a degree in the state's government colleges and universities. Because eligibility turns on placing among the top three in a stream, the scheme reaches a small, high-achieving group rather than every enrolled student.
