Overview

About MMCPSSJL

The Mukhyamantri Medhavi Chhatra Protsahan Scholarship Scheme (Junior Level) is a merit scholarship run by the Department of Education, Government of Uttarakhand. It sits within the state's school education administration, and the selection examination is conducted by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Uttarakhand.

The scheme rewards academic performance in the early middle-school years. Students entering Classes 6, 7 and 8 who do well in the SCERT competitive examination receive a monthly cash scholarship, paid to the student's or a parent's bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer. Uttarakhand frames the incentive as a way to keep meritorious students in school and encourage them into higher classes.

It is meant for students in recognised government and government-aided schools in Uttarakhand, selected through the SCERT competitive examination.
