Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Overseas Scholarship Scheme(MGJSMOSS)
Overview
About MGJSMOSS
The Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Overseas Scholarship Scheme is run by the Government of Jharkhand through its Department of Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, Minority and Backward Class Welfare. It funds postgraduate study abroad for students from the state who belong to Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, minority and backward communities.
Jharkhand launched the scheme in December 2020, at first for Scheduled Tribe students bound for universities in the United Kingdom, on a fully funded basis. It later opened to Scheduled Caste, minority and backward-class applicants and extended to institutions in Ireland. Selected students read for a one-year master's or a two-year MPhil at a participating overseas university.
The award is composite: it covers the main costs of studying abroad, including tuition fees, living expenses and travel, rather than a single fixed grant. It is meant for Jharkhand residents from these communities.
