About LSMSSCST
The Laptop Scheme for Meritorious Students of SC/ST is a state-level welfare measure of the Government of Goa. It is a Goa scheme rather than a central one, so it reaches students tied to the state rather than applicants across India.
The support is given in kind: the state provides a laptop to the student, not a cash grant or a fee waiver. It is aimed at meritorious students from the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities who were born in Goa, and you apply as an individual. Eligibility runs deeper than community and birth: you need to have passed the Class 10 Goa Board examination in the first attempt with at least 70% aggregate, and to have ranked among the top five students of your taluka in that exam, counted separately for boys and girls.

| The applicant should be born in Goa. | |
| The applicant should be from a Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) Community. | |
