Overview

About MBARHPBE

The Merit-Based Award and Recognition of High Performance in the Board Exams of SSC and HSSC is a state merit scheme in Goa, run by the Department of Tribal Welfare, Government of Goa. The Director of Tribal Welfare is the sanctioning authority, and applications are handled through the department's scholarship portal.

The award recognises Scheduled Tribe students who do well in Goa's Class 10 (SSC) and Class 12 (HSSC) board examinations, and the benefit is a cash award. The department rewards high performers with two stated aims: to give financial support to students from economically weak households so they continue studying, and to raise the number of Scheduled Tribe students among the state's high-rank holders.

Support is meant for individual students in Goa rather than for institutions. Eligibility turns on both academic performance and the income conditions the department sets, so the marks you secure and your family's economic standing both count toward who receives the award in a given year.
