Overview

About KCVY

Khel Chhatravriti (Vritika) Yojana is a sports scholarship offered by the Government of Jharkhand. It is administered by the state's Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, which works under the Department of Tourism, Art and Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs, and it is listed on the national myScheme portal.

The scheme pays cash support to sportspersons on the basis of their results in recognised state and national competitions. Its purpose is to ease the cost of training, nutrition and equipment so that promising athletes can keep pursuing sport as a career. The support is a monthly scholarship, and the amount depends on the athlete's level of performance.

It is meant for athletes who are permanent residents of Jharkhand and have competed in recognised state or national events in the previous year. The scholarship is directed at those who are not already receiving comparable sports benefits such as a free diet, accommodation or a stipend under another scheme. The full eligibility conditions and payment bands are set by the directorate.
