Overview

About JSIFFFA

The Junior/Senior Fellowship in the Field of Fine Arts is a state fellowship run by the Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities Department, Government of Gujarat. It is administered by the Gujarat State Lalit Kala Akademi, the state fine arts academy in Ahmedabad, which organises exhibitions, camps and artist-support programmes across Gujarat.

The fellowship provides a monthly cash stipend for a fixed term so that working artists can pursue focused projects in painting, sculpture and graphic art. It is aimed at experimental, research-based and revival work, including advanced training and efforts to keep endangered folk and traditional art forms alive. Support is offered at two levels, a junior tier and a senior tier, so both emerging and more established artists can be considered.

It is open to artists who are resident in Gujarat and active in painting, sculpture or the graphic arts, with relevant training and experience in their discipline. Candidates apply offline to the academy with a project proposal and supporting documents.
