Overview

About IHSFG

The Interest Help Scheme for Graduate Doctor-Lawyer-Technical Graduate is run by the Gujarat Unreserved Educational and Economical Development Corporation (GUEEDC), which operates under the state's Social Justice and Empowerment Department. It offers an interest subsidy to graduates from the non-reserved (general or unreserved) category in Gujarat who take a bank loan to set up their own professional practice.

The aim is to lower the cost of that loan. A qualified doctor, advocate or technical graduate who borrows from a bank to open a clinic, laboratory, radiology centre or office receives a subsidy on the interest they owe, which reduces what the loan costs to repay. The help is an interest subsidy on the loan, not aid for tuition or study.

The scheme is meant for residents of Gujarat from the non-reserved category who have the professional registration their field requires and who are financing a new practice through a bank loan. Conditions on age, family income and the loan itself apply, and those exact figures are listed on the official scheme record.
