Internship Policy Of The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board(IPMPTB)
Overview
About IPMPTB
The Internship Policy of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board is one of the few state training schemes a student cannot apply to. The request travels from the college to the Deputy Director (Skill Development) at the Board's Bhopal office, and the policy makes it compulsory for the institute to send it one month before the internship period begins, with the candidate's bio data and photograph already attached (Internship Policy, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board). Seats are counted per course group and per season, and what a trainee is paid depends on the course enrolled in, not on income or category.
This is a placement of enrolled students into working tourism properties and offices, not a payment against fees. The policy opens two windows a year, May to July for summer training and October to December for winter training, and puts the trainee under a unit head or departmental head for the whole of it. Stipends run from Rs 1,500 a month for certificate, diploma and PG diploma students in food production, food and beverage service, housekeeping or hotel operations, through Rs 2,500 for hotel management and tourism degree students, up to Rs 5,000 for the Post Graduate Diploma in Forestry Management (Internship Policy, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board).
Read the document end to end and one thing is missing that almost every other state scheme carries: a test on the individual. There is no income ceiling, no percentage cut off, no category reservation and no domicile rule anywhere in it. What qualifies a candidate is the institute they are studying at and the course they are enrolled in.

Calendar
Important dates
The policy fixes no calendar date. It fixes a distance from the window, and the two windows are fixed, which is enough to plan a year around.
| Stage | When | Who acts |
|---|---|---|
| Institute coordinates trainee numbers and period | Before the request letter | Training institute and the Deputy Director (Skill Development) |
| Request letter and candidate papers reach the Board | One month before the internship period | Training institute |
| Selection interview, in person or by telephone or Skype | After the applications are received | Deputy Director (Skill Development) |
| Candidates join the allotted MPTDC unit or head office | After the Board's written approval | Training institute |
| Summer training | May to July | Trainee, under the unit or departmental head |
| Winter training | October to December | Trainee, under the unit or departmental head |
| Training report verified, then certificate issued | On completion of training | Unit head, then the Board |
A summer batch therefore needs its institute's letter in during April, and a winter batch during September.
Who can apply
Eligibility criteria
Two gates, both institutional. The first is the institute: hotel management institutes, food craft institutes and travel and tourism institutes affiliated to the Government of India or Madhya Pradesh, the Indian Institute of Forest Management, or any other institute the Board's management permits. The second is the course, and the list runs from tourism degrees through hotel management, food production and forest management to what the policy calls other tourism related courses, naming photography, digital marketing, advertising, adventure sports, biodiversity and tour operator courses.
Because both gates sit on the institution, studying outside Madhya Pradesh does not put a candidate out of range. The policy says so in its opening line, which is written for students in hospitality and tourism schools in Madhya Pradesh or outside the state (Internship Policy, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board). The last semester marksheet is asked for as part of the institute's packet, and the policy sets no minimum mark on it.

Exclusions
The source publishes no exclusion list, so the honest version is the set of things that stop an application in practice. A request sent by the student rather than by the institute has no route into the process, because the policy names the institute as the sender. An institute outside the listed categories needs the Board management's permission first. A course outside the listed set is not covered, and neither is a request that reaches the Deputy Director less than a month before the window. Once training has started, the policy holds that a candidate found involved in any indisciplinary or illegal activity is liable to strict action under rule or law.
Continuation
Renewal conditions
The policy carries no renewal or extension clause. Each summer or winter batch is a fresh request from the institute, and the training period itself is fixed by the institute's proposal within the window rather than carried over.
What you get
Award & benefits
The stipend is graded by course, and the gradient is steep: the Post Graduate Diploma in Forestry Management slab at Rs 5,000 a month is more than three times the Rs 1,500 paid to a certificate or diploma trainee from a food craft institute or IGNOU, with B.Sc. Hotel Management students from an IHM or SIHM and MBA, BBA, BA and B.Com (Tourism) students sitting between them at Rs 2,500 (Internship Policy, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board). Where a specific training calls for something different, the policy leaves the amount to the Board's management rather than fixing it.
Payment reaches the candidate's own bank account by NEFT or RTGS, so a working account in the trainee's name is effectively a precondition. Against that, the Board pays nothing for the journey to and from the allotted place of training, and provides neither accommodation nor food. A trainee placed at a resort away from home carries those costs out of the stipend, which is worth working out before accepting an allotment on the lowest slab.

What to prepare
Documents required
The packet is assembled and sent by the institute, not handed in by the student, and two of its parts are the institute's own work rather than the candidate's. The original request letter has to state clearly what period the internship runs for, and the institute must supply the training module for the internship and the subject along with that letter. The candidate's contribution is the bio data, a recent photograph, the institute's bonafide certificate and a photocopy of the last semester or examination passing marksheet.
Step by step
How to apply
There is no application form and no portal. The route is the institute's coordination with the Deputy Director (Skill Development) on how many trainees it wants and for what period, followed by the request letter and the candidate papers reaching that office at the Board in Bhopal one month ahead of the window (Internship Policy, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board). The myScheme record for the scheme confirms the mode as offline and lists no application URL (myScheme, IPMPTB).
That shapes how an applicant tracks the case, because there is nothing to log into. Written approval from the Board to the institute is the confirmation, and it is also the trigger for the institute to send the selected candidates to join directly at the allotted MPTDC unit or the head office. After that, the record of the internship lives in the attendance the host unit records and the logbook it verifies, and the training report goes to the same Deputy Director's office that approved the request. The stipend has no tracker of its own either, since it arrives as an NEFT or RTGS credit into the trainee's account, so a month that does not land is chased through the host unit's attendance sheet and the Board rather than through a payment receipt on a portal.

How winners are picked
Selection process
The Deputy Director (Skill Development) is named the competent authority and selects candidates after all the applications are in, by interview conducted in person or over a telephone or Skype call (Internship Policy, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board). No written test, no merit list and no marks weighting appear in the document.
Competition is decided by which stream a candidate belongs to, because the seat table caps each one separately for each season. The largest block goes to hotel management, food production, food and beverage service, front office and housekeeping students, at 25 seats a season, and they are placed inside MPTDC residencies, resorts and hotels or in selected private properties. The tourism degree stream, posted to the head office and marketing offices, and the forest management stream, posted to MPTDC units near forests and water bodies and to responsible tourism projects, get 10 seats each per season. Only the photography, digital marketing, adventure sports and allied group is left open ended, at 10 or as per need.
Fine print
Terms & conditions
Three obligations run through the whole training and each has a named owner. The trainee keeps a logbook of work done and learning, follows the code of conduct, and submits a project report at the end. The host MPTDC hotel or marketing office runs an induction briefing before the internship starts, records attendance, verifies the logbook and explains the organisation's do's and don'ts. The institute has to brief its students about the place of training and their conduct there, and then carry the candidate's training report into its own annual report or result.
Attendance is where the policy makes a distinction worth knowing in advance. For the stipulated training period it is compulsory, but for project based training it is not, and in that case the project itself has to be submitted without exception. The closing provision is the code of conduct, which asks candidates to hold the image of MP Tourism in mind throughout.

Contact
Every stage of this policy passes through one desk, the Deputy Director (Skill Development) at the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board: the institute's request letter arrives there, the selection interview is conducted from there, and the verified training report is submitted back to it. No separate line is published for that post, so correspondence goes to the Board's office at 6th Floor, Lily Trade Wing, Jahangirabad, Bhopal 462008, on 0755-2780600 or at info.mptb@mp.gov.in (Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board contact page). A student writing in personally has no standing in the process, so the first call is to the training and placement or departmental head who can raise the request.
