Overview

About IMSPEKSYRC

Indira Mahila Shakti Prashikshan Evam Kaushal Sanvardhan Yojna (RS-CIT) is a Rajasthan state scheme run by the Women and Child Development Department. It gives women and girls of the state free computer training so that a shortage of digital skills does not keep them out of paid work or self-employment.

The training is delivered through Rajasthan Knowledge Corporation Limited (RKCL) and its network of IT training centres. The course on offer is the RS-CIT, the Rajasthan State Certificate in Information Technology, which runs for about 132 hours (roughly three months) and covers everyday computing such as word processing, spreadsheets, email and internet use. The benefit is in kind: the state government bears the course cost, so an eligible candidate pays no fee.

The scheme is meant for women and girls who are residents of Rajasthan, with priority for widows, divorced or separated women, and women affected by domestic violence. Detailed age limits and the seats reserved for different groups are set out in the scheme's eligibility rules.
