IELTS & TOEFL Training Assistance(ITTA)
Overview
About ITTA
IELTS & TOEFL Training Assistance is a state scheme run by the Tribal Development Department, Government of Gujarat. It supports Scheduled Tribe (ST) students from the state who plan to study abroad and first need to clear an English-language proficiency test.
Most foreign universities ask applicants to prove their English through IELTS or TOEFL, and structured coaching for these tests costs money that many families cannot spare. The scheme helps cover the cost of that coaching, so preparation is not the thing that keeps an eligible student out.
The assistance is meant for tribal students in Gujarat who are working towards higher studies overseas. It sits alongside the department's other support for ST learners, including loans for study abroad, and is administered through the state's tribal development channels.
