ICRO Amrit Internship Programme(ICROAIP)
Overview
About ICROAIP
The ICRO Amrit Internship Programme is run by the IPL Centre for Rural Outreach (ICRO), a centre Indian Potash Limited set up together with the National Productivity Council (NPC), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. On the government's scheme portal it is catalogued as a central-level programme under the Department of Fertilizers, built around strengthening agricultural awareness and productivity through rural outreach.
Interns are placed at the headquarters and regional offices of NPC and IPL and take part in ICRO's rural outreach work. They study e-learning modules covering agricultural productivity, sustainability and central and state farm schemes, and each intern is expected to reach out to around 100 farmers over the course of the internship. The placement runs for three months to begin with and can be renewed up to four times.
The benefit is a cash stipend paid over the internship period. The programme is open to individual applicants, and it is aimed at young people, including rural youth, who want hands-on exposure to agriculture and rural development before entering the workforce.
