Overview

About GFAPTNSGCIWE-GLWB

This scheme gives the children of industrial workers a small grant to buy textbooks and notebooks for the school year. It is run by the Goa Labour Welfare Board, which sits under the Labour and Employment Department of the Government of Goa, and it is one of a set of welfare measures the Board offers to workers in the state's registered establishments.

The support is aimed at children in the early school years, from class 1 to class 4, who study in a recognised or approved school. The intent is narrow and practical: cover the cost of books and notebooks so that a worker's household does not have to carry that expense at the start of term. The assistance is meant only for that purpose.

A worker does not apply directly to the Board. The claim goes through the employer to the office of the Secretary, Goa Labour Welfare Board, at Shram Shakti Bhavan in Panaji. Eligibility turns on the parent's service and wages as an industrial worker, so the exact conditions and grant amount are set out in the scheme details rather than assumed from the name.
