Free Supply of Note Books to the Children of Poor Widows(FSNBCPW)
Overview
About FSNBCPW
Free Supply of Note Books to the Children of Poor Widows is a welfare scheme of the Social Welfare and Nutritious Meal Programme Department, Government of Tamil Nadu. It supplies notebooks, free of cost, to school-going children of poor widows in the state.
The support is an in-kind benefit rather than a cash payment, so eligible students receive the notebooks directly. It covers children studying up to the higher secondary level, and extends to children living in government children's homes and service homes.
The scheme is administered through the department's district machinery, so families apply to the District Social Welfare Officer or a local extension officer rather than through an online portal. It sits alongside the department's other support for widows and their families, such as marriage assistance for the daughters of poor widows.
