Overview

About FSDFG

Free Scooty Distribution for Girls (General Category, EWS) is a Rajasthan government scheme that awards a free two-wheeler to meritorious girl students from the economically weaker section of the general category. The Secondary Education Department launched it in 2017-18 to encourage these students and give them their own transport to school and college.

The benefit is given in kind. A selected student receives a scooty, a helmet and two litres of petrol; there is no cash component. A girl who has already been given a scooty under another government scheme is not eligible.

Eligibility is tightly drawn. An applicant must be a girl native to Rajasthan, belong to the economically weaker section of the general category, and have a family income no higher than ₹2,50,000 a year. She must have studied in a government or private school in the state and scored at least 85% in her Class 10 or Class 12 board examination, across the arts, commerce or science streams. Because it rests on both a high board score and the EWS income test, the eligible group is narrow rather than open to every girl student.
