About FESFPC

The Free Education Scholarship for Professional Courses is a Tamil Nadu government scheme that meets the cost of undergraduate professional education for students from the Backward Classes (BC), Most Backward Classes (MBC) and Denotified Communities (DNC). It is run by the Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Department and administered through the Directorate of Backward Classes Welfare.

The benefit is a fee concession. It covers the tuition fees, special fees, examination fees and other non-refundable compulsory fees fixed by the government, so an eligible student can complete an undergraduate professional degree without paying those charges. The scheme is limited to UG professional courses.

You are covered if you belong to Tamil Nadu's BC, MBC or DNC communities and hold a seat in a government or government-aided college, or a government-quota seat in a self-financing college, for one of these courses. Eligible students apply through the Directorate of Backward Classes Welfare.
