Overview

About FCHDNNASNC

Free Caste Hostel is a Madhya Pradesh state scholarship for students from de-notified, nomadic and semi-nomadic communities who are studying at a local educational institution. It is run by the state's Department of De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-nomadic Welfare, and pays a monthly cash scholarship for 10 months of the academic year: 1,230 rupees a month for boys and 1,270 rupees a month for girls.

To be eligible, a student must belong to a de-notified, nomadic or semi-nomadic tribe and be enrolled at a local institution, and must apply before the new academic session begins. Places are limited to vacant seats, so admission depends on availability, and priority goes to students with higher marks in their last examination. The scheme sets no income limit.

Applications are filed online through the Madhya Pradesh Samarth portal. A student registers, logs in and completes the scheme's form, submitting a caste certificate, domicile certificate, Aadhaar, Samagra ID, a passport-size photograph and bank account details.
