About FDOTBTS
Free Distribution of Text Books to Students is a Madhya Pradesh government scheme run by the School Education Department. The benefit comes as study material rather than money: eligible students are given a set of textbooks at no cost for the school year.
It is meant for students in classes 9 to 12 who are enrolled in government high schools and higher secondary schools in the state. Children studying in private schools are not covered. Among government-school students in these classes the scheme is open regardless of caste, and the department applies no income limit.
The purpose is to keep the price of textbooks from standing between a family and secondary schooling. The books are distributed through the government school where a student is enrolled.
