Financial Assistance for Education of Children of Registered Construction Worker(FAECRCW)
Overview
About FAECRCW
The Financial Assistance for Education of Children of Registered Construction Worker scheme is a State cash benefit in Tripura. It helps meet the education costs of the children of construction workers who are registered with the Tripura Building and Other Construction Workers' Welfare Board (TBOCWWB), the body that runs the scheme under the Labour Directorate, Government of Tripura.
The welfare board was constituted on 20 January 2007 and holds its own Tripura Building and Other Construction Workers' Welfare Fund. It supports registered workers through a set of welfare schemes, of which education for their children is one. To draw any of these benefits, a construction worker first registers as a beneficiary with the board through the Labour Officer of the district.
The benefit is paid in cash, so that the cost of a child's schooling does not fall wholly on a family that depends on construction wages. Eligibility runs to the children of workers who hold a current registration with the board.
