Financial Assistance for Education (GBOCWWB)(FAE-GBOCWWB)
Overview
About FAE-GBOCWWB
Financial Assistance for Education is a welfare scheme run by the Goa Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (GBOCWWB). The board is a statutory body under the Office of the Commissioner, Labour and Employment, Government of Goa, and it was constituted on 10 April 2008 under the Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1996.
The scheme gives a registered construction worker cash support towards their children's education. The amount is decided by the board rather than fixed in the rules, and it is paid to the worker as a direct benefit. It sits alongside the board's other measures for registered workers, which include medical assistance, disability pension and relief in the event of a disaster.
If you are a construction worker registered with the GBOCWWB and your child is in education, this scheme is meant to help with those costs. Applications are handled offline: you collect the prescribed form from the Office of the Commissioner, Labour and Employment in Panaji, or download it from the department's website, then submit the completed and signed form with the required documents at that office.
