About GBSYSC
Gagan Bharari Shiksha Yojana for SC Students is a state scholarship run by the Directorate of Social Welfare, Government of Goa. It sits on top of the Centrally Sponsored Post Matric Scholarship: where the central scheme pays a maintenance allowance, Goa adds a further amount for Scheduled Caste students studying after Class 10.
It provides additional financial assistance to students who have availed the central post-matric scholarship, rather than replacing it. The allowance is paid monthly across the academic year, with an extra amount for students who have a disability.
It is meant for SC students in Goa who have availed, or are eligible for, the Centrally Sponsored Post Matric Scholarship in the current academic year. If you do not qualify for that base scholarship, you are outside this scheme. Applications are handled online through the Goa Chief Minister Scholarship Portal.
