Gagan Bharari Shiksha Yojana for OBC (Dhangar) Students(GBSYOBC)
Overview
About GBSYOBC
Gagan Bharari Shiksha Yojana for OBC (Dhangar) Students is a state top-up scholarship run by the Directorate of Social Welfare, Government of Goa. It sits on top of the centrally sponsored Post Matric Scholarship, adding a further maintenance allowance for students from the OBC (Dhangar) community who are already studying beyond Class 10.
The benefit is paid as cash. Students receive a monthly maintenance allowance across the academic year, with a higher rate for those staying in a hostel than for day scholars, and an added allowance for students with a disability. The aim is to help meet living costs that the Post Matric maintenance allowance alone does not fully cover.
You qualify only if you belong to the OBC (Dhangar) community in Goa and have received, or are eligible for, the Post Matric Scholarship in the same academic year. Applications are handled online through the Goa Chief Minister Scholarship Portal, submitted with caste, income, and academic documents.
