The myScheme record carries no opening or closing date, because the calendar lives in the Directorate's advertisement notices instead, published each cycle on the portal and in local newspapers. Two cycles give the calendar its shape: 2025 opened in July and closed in mid-August, while the 2021 window ended in mid-November only after an extension notice.

Treat mid-August as the working deadline and apply early in July: the extension is a mercy the Directorate has granted before, not a pattern to bank on.

Three tests decide most applications in practice. First, identity: you must be a permanent resident of Assam and belong to the Tea Tribes and Adivasi community, proven with a caste certificate issued by the district's Deputy Commissioner or a designated officer, as the scheme guideline notification spells out. Second, income: the family ceiling is Rs 5.00 lakh a year, the figure the Directorate's advertisement notice sets and Bodopedia's criteria summary records unchanged. Notably, the department does not demand an income certificate from a revenue officer; a parent or guardian signs an undertaking on the prescribed format instead. Third, enrolment: you must be mid-course, in a professional or job-oriented technical diploma or degree of at least a year's duration, at a government or government-recognized institute.

That last clause trips people up. A private nursing school is not disqualifying by itself; recognition is what counts, and the guideline expressly contemplates training in non-government institutes.

The guideline sets no minimum-marks bar. The application format still asks for your HSLC-and-above percentages, so the verifying officers see your academic record even though no cutoff is published.

The published exclusions target students whose course is over, one way or the other: pass-outs and those who abandoned their studies are both out. Beyond that list, two practical disqualifiers surface in the Directorate's own notices. Applying from multiple sub-divisions gets every copy of the application rejected, a warning the department prints in its advertisement notice. And the bank account offered with the application must be Aadhaar-seeded, scheduled and the applicant's own; SIRISH states all three conditions on its front page, ahead of everything else.

The one stacking exception is the Simon Sing Horo (Special Post-Matric) Scholarship, which the same department runs and which may be held in the same year.

The guideline publishes no renewal clause; every year is a fresh application against that year's advertisement. The system does remember you, though. The application format asks whether you drew the assistance in the previous year, and the SIRISH scheme page keeps a shorter upload list for existing applicants: the latest mark-sheet and the current year's fee receipt or principal's recommendation, against the full document set a first-time applicant uploads. Returning students log in with the credentials they created earlier rather than registering again.

The award is a flat annual sum fixed by course group, not a fee reimbursement, so it does not vary with what your institute charges. The guideline notification sets the ladder in Group A to Group E order.

Nursing sits at the top of that ladder: GNM draws the highest slab and ANM the second, while the technical trades the scheme also covers, from lab-technician diplomas to PGDCA, draw the lower ones. The guideline states no cap on how many students may be selected; the physical target follows whatever requirement the Sub-Divisional Welfare Officers submit for their areas.

myScheme's eight-item upload list renders below, size caps and all, so the prose here adds only the two distinctions that list does not explain. The income proof is an undertaking, not a certificate: download the prescribed format from the SIRISH scheme page, have a parent or guardian sign it, and upload the scan. A false declaration on it carries legal consequences, which is the trade the department made for not demanding revenue-office paperwork. And the enrolment proof is an either-or: the admission or fee receipt of the running course, or a recommendation letter from the head of the institution on the format annexed to the guideline notification. The caste certificate the department's own application format expects is the TGL/Ex-TGL certificate used for the tea-garden communities.

Everything runs through sirishassam.in. Fresh applicants register first; the portal authenticates Aadhaar and expects an Aadhaar-seeded scheduled bank account in the applicant's own name before an application will complete. Returning applicants skip registration and use their existing login.

The application itself is a dashboard sequence, walked through screen by screen in the department's user manual: select the scheme, enter personal details, upload the documents, update bank details, then preview everything and submit. The preview step lets you reopen any earlier tab and correct data before final submission, and the dashboard prints an acknowledgement slip once the application goes through.

Tracking is built into the same dashboard, which matters for a benefit the guideline targets for completion only by the financial year's end in March, months after the window shuts. After submission, your application number appears under the APPLICATION STATUS tab, and the same screen names the stage your file is at, verification pending being the first. SIRISH's own copy makes self-service tracking part of the case for going online: applicants can track the status of their application through a process the Directorate calls transparent and time-bound. Keep the originals ready regardless: the Sub-Divisional Welfare Officer can call you in to produce them along with the acknowledgement slip.

Nobody sits a test for this assistance and nobody faces an interview; what the guideline notification prescribes is an administrative chain that checks papers instead. The Sub-Divisional Welfare Officer examines the applications and places a consolidated list before the Sub-Divisional Level Beneficiary Selection Committee. Each sub-division then forwards its approved, signed list through the online system to Rupnagar, where the Director merges what the sub-divisions sent into one final list for the State Level Advisory Committee's Chairman to approve. A doubtful case does not simply pass or fail: the Director can send the list back to the sub-division for re-verification. Once the final list is approved, payment moves by e-transfer to each selected student's account.

The undertaking on family income is the scheme's load-bearing honesty device: the signatory affirms the figure and accepts liability under law if it is found otherwise, per the format annexed to the guideline notification. Assistance attaches to a running course, so leaving it forfeits the benefit. On the department's side, the Directorate keeps the records, reports progress to the government, and has its scheme accounts audited by the Accountant General (Audit), Assam, with each cycle targeted for completion by the end of the financial year in March.
