Educational Assistance (ANBOCWWB)(EA(ANBOCWWB))
Overview
About EA(ANBOCWWB)
Educational Assistance is a welfare scheme run by the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (ANBOCWWB), which operates under the Andaman and Nicobar Administration's Department of Labour, Employment and Training. The scheme pays a monthly educational allowance to the son or daughter of a registered construction worker, covering study from Class 1 up to the postgraduate and professional-course level. The benefit is paid in cash.
The allowance scales with the level of study, from ₹300 per month for children in Classes 1 to 5 up to ₹2,000 per month for postgraduate study. Eligibility runs through the parent rather than the student: the worker must be a resident of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, engaged in construction work, and hold active membership of the Board. Applications can be filed online through the national ServicePlus portal, or offline at the concerned office.
