Overview

About EACVC

The Educational Assistance for Children of Victims of Crime scheme is run by the Department of Social Justice, Government of Kerala. It falls under the department's probation and aftercare work and helps meet the education costs of children whose families have been affected by a crime.

When a family loses its income or spends heavily on treatment after a crime, a child's education is often the first thing to stop. The scheme pays annual assistance so that these children can stay in school and college. The grant is set by the level of study and rises at each stage, from the primary classes through to postgraduate and research courses.

It is meant for children and dependents of crime victims from low-income families. Applications reach the department through the District Probation Officer, who handles its probation and aftercare cases.
