Overview

About EHTTG

Economic Help to Tribal Girls for Higher Education (College Level) is a state scholarship run by the Tribal Area Development Department of the Government of Rajasthan. The Rajasthan government began it in 1994-95 to encourage girls from the state's Scheduled Tribe communities to carry on into college rather than stop studying after school.

The support is a cash grant of Rs 5,000 a year, paid as Rs 500 a month across ten months. Its aim is plain: to take the edge off what a year of college costs a tribal household, so that money is a smaller reason for a girl to leave her studies.

The scheme is for tribal girl students of Rajasthan studying a general-education course at a private or government college in the state, and it is limited to families that do not pay income tax. A student living in a government-run hostel is not eligible, and there must be no break in study after the board examination. Applications are made online through Rajasthan's Single Sign-On portal.
