Overview

About CMSASPS

The Chief Minister Specially Abled Samman Pension Scheme is a monthly disability pension run by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Rajasthan. In Hindi it is known as the Mukhyamantri Vishesh Yogyajan Samman Pension Yojana, and it sits within Rajasthan's social security pension programme. The state launched it in 2013 to give regular income support to persons with disabilities who cannot earn a living on their own.

The benefit is a cash pension paid every month, directly to the beneficiary. The amount is fixed by the state and steps up with the pensioner's age, so an older beneficiary receives a higher rate than a younger one.

It is meant for permanent residents of Rajasthan who live with a certified disability and whose household income falls within the state's limit. The state also recognises some related categories, such as persons affected by leprosy or silicosis and, in defined cases, transgender residents and persons of short stature. Applications are made online through Rajasthan's Single Sign On (SSO) portal or at an e-Mitra centre, supported by a disability certificate and proof of residence and income.
