Overview

About DPMSS

The Devnarayan Post Matric Scholarship Scheme is a state scholarship run by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Rajasthan. It sits within the wider Devnarayan scheme, a group of welfare programmes the state directs at its very backward class communities, and it covers the post-matriculation stage of a student's education.

The purpose is to help students from these communities stay in higher study by meeting part of the cost. The benefit is paid as cash: a reimbursement of course fees together with a maintenance allowance, set according to the course and its duration. It applies from class 11 up to doctoral study in recognised institutions in Rajasthan.

The scholarship is for students who are natives of Rajasthan and belong to the very backward class communities notified under the Devnarayan scheme, which include the Banjara, Gadia-Lohar, Gujjar, Raika and Gadariya groups. Support is means-tested, with a ceiling on the annual family income, and students apply through the state's SSO portal using their Jan Aadhaar.
