Overview
About CAMVISOFTRSLSHE
The Cash Award to the Meritorious Visually Impaired Students Obtaining First Three Ranks at the State Level in the SSLC and HSC Examination is a state scholarship from the Government of Puducherry. It gives a cash prize to visually impaired students who finish among the first three ranks at state level in the SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) or HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) board examination.
The Department of Social Welfare, Puducherry runs the scheme through its Directorate of Social Welfare, and applications are handled by the Deputy Director of the Differently Abled Section. It began under the Cash Award to Meritorious Blind Students Obtaining First Three Ranks at the State Level in S.S.L.C. Examination Rules, 2007, which at first covered only the SSLC exam. In 2021-22 the government amended those rules to extend the award to visually challenged students who top the Higher Secondary examination.
The award is meant for visually impaired students in Puducherry's government and private schools. Where a student qualifies, the cash is credited to their bank account.
