Overview

About ASSGSDRA

The Attendance Scholarship Scheme for Girl Students with Disabilities of Rural Areas is a state scheme run by the Department of Social Security and Women & Child Development, Government of Punjab. It is fully state-sponsored and directed at girls with disabilities who live in Punjab's rural areas.

The benefit is a cash incentive, described as an attendance scholarship, paid to eligible girl students each year. Its stated aim is to improve the standing of girls with disabilities in rural areas and to help them become self-reliant. Payments are linked to attendance, which the department uses to keep these girls in school and college.

The scheme is meant for girl students from rural Punjab who hold a disability certificate and whose household income falls within the department's limit. A minimum level of attendance is also required. The exact benefit amounts, income ceiling, and attendance threshold are set by the department and listed with the scheme's eligibility details.
