Overview

About AMCMCY

The Alpsankhyak Merit-Cum-Means Chatravriti Yojana is a state scholarship run by the Government of Madhya Pradesh. In the scheme's name, 'alpsankhyak' means minority and 'chatravriti' means scholarship. It supports students from minority communities who are enrolled in higher education within the state.

The award is merit-cum-means, so it is meant for students who have the marks to keep studying but not the family income to fund it. It covers course fees up to a fixed cap and adds a monthly maintenance allowance, set higher for students living in a hostel than for those who are not.

Eligibility is limited to students domiciled in Madhya Pradesh who belong to one of India's notified minority communities: Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain or Parsi. Because the scheme weighs both merit and means, an applicant has to clear an academic mark as well as a family-income ceiling; meeting only one of the two is not enough. Applications are submitted online.
