Agriculture Academic Studies Scheme(AASS)
Overview
About AASS
The Agriculture Academic Studies Scheme is a state government sponsorship run by the Department of Agriculture, Government of Meghalaya. It supports individual students who take up a four-year graduate degree in Agriculture or Horticulture.
The aim is to place Meghalaya students in agriculture and horticulture degree programmes against the state's quota seats in agriculture universities across the country. In practice the sponsorship tracks the admissions the department runs each year: it publishes merit lists for B.Sc. Agriculture and B.Sc. Horticulture seats under the government's reserved quota, sorted into categories such as Open, ST (Khasi and Jaintia), ST (Garo) and SC/OBC/Other Tribes.
It is meant for students from Meghalaya who secure one of these reserved-quota seats, not for open admission nationwide. The Meghalaya Government schemes portal records the scheme with a start date of 1 April 2014.
