Admission in Post Matric Hostel(AIPMH)

The scheme publishes no application window: the myScheme record carries no closing date, and the entitlement record fixes only the one month the office has to dispose of a submitted file (CM Helpline entitlement record). In practice a hostel seat presumes a current admission at a nearby institution, so applications track the academic session rather than a notified calendar. Treat dated hostel deadlines in search results with care; the widely indexed ones belong to Karnataka's department, not to Madhya Pradesh.

The load-bearing condition is the scholarship link. The scheme asks that you qualify for the backward class post matric scholarship, and the state's own record for that scholarship admits students whose parents' or guardians' annual income from all sources stays under Rs 3.00 lakh (CM Helpline record for the backward class post matric scholarship). Clear that bar and the remaining two conditions are about geography rather than merit: your institution has to sit near the hostel you want, and your family home must not.

The non-resident condition reads harsh until you see its purpose. The beds exist to remove the rent burden from students who had to leave home to study; a student who can commute from their own house in the same town is not carrying that burden, so the seat goes to someone who is.

Nothing is published under exclusions for this scheme, and its eligibility test is geographic enough to do the disqualifying on its own. A student whose family lives in the hostel's own town falls outside the scheme whatever their marks or income, and a household that crosses the scholarship's income ceiling fails the first condition automatically, because hostel eligibility rides on scholarship eligibility instead of carrying an income test of its own.

Neither the state entitlement record nor the scheme record publishes a renewal procedure for the hostel seat itself. What is written down is the discipline on the scholarship the seat depends on: the department's post matric scholarship rules require 75 percent attendance, certified by the head of the institution to the district Assistant Director (department administrative report). Keep that eligibility alive through the session and the basis of the hostel place survives with it.

The award is the room. Accommodation comes free for the period of study, and the entitlement record lists the cash grant against this scheme as nil (CM Helpline entitlement record). The money side arrives indirectly, through the scholarship every hostel applicant must already qualify for: Madhya Pradesh's backward class post matric scholarship pays its monthly maintenance allowance at a hosteller rate and a lower day-scholar rate, so where a student lives changes what the scholarship pays.

The rate table sits in the scholarship rules, not in the hostel scheme, so the allowance follows the scholarship application rather than the hostel file.

Of the documents the scheme record lists, two decide most cases. The income certificate is what proves the household sits inside the scholarship ceiling that the first eligibility condition points to, and the domicile and residence papers together have to show a Madhya Pradesh student who does not live in the hostel's own town. Admission proof from the institution closes the loop by placing your enrolment near the hostel you are asking for.

An AIPMH file is paper, and it starts and ends at the same desk. Per the state entitlement record, you collect the application form from the district office of the Assistant Director, Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Department, have it signed by the head of the institution where you study, attach the documents and submit the file back to the same office; no application fee is charged (CM Helpline entitlement record).

Tracking works differently here than on a DBT scholarship, because nothing in this scheme is a bank transfer. The entitlement record binds the office to a disposal window of one month and names the Assistant Director as the designated officer, with an appeal lying to the district Collector if the decision goes against you. There is no online status page for the hostel application itself; the scholarship underneath it has run on the MPTAASC portal since the 2021-22 session (department administrative report), so the scholarship side of your eligibility is visible there while the hostel file moves by hand. A file that sits past its window is grievance material for the CM Helpline portal, the same place the state publishes this scheme's entitlement record.

No merit list, entrance test or interview is published for these hostels. Selection is the eligibility check applied by the Assistant Director within the disposal window, against a fixed number of beds in each district's buildings. The sources publish no rule for ordering applicants when demand outruns seats; what the department does publish is a fallback for students turned away for want of space, described in the FAQ below.

The benefit stays in kind at every stage: the entitlement record shows no cash grant and no payment procedure against the scheme, and the application costs nothing. The seat exists against a live enrolment at a nearby institution and a live scholarship eligibility; the conditions that govern the stay are the same ones that created it.
