Aapki Beti Yojana(ABY)

myScheme publishes no opening or closing date, and that is accurate: the window is set each session by a Foundation circular to the district education officers, with two dates in it, a last date for schools to lock the list and a later last date for the DEO office to verify it. The 2025-26 circular, signed by the Foundation's secretary Dr Aruna Sharma, set 25 November 2025 for the school lock and 30 November 2025 for DEO verification, and Rajasthan Patrika reported the same two dates from Bhilwara on 13 November 2025 (Foundation circular, November 2025; Rajasthan Patrika, 13 November 2025).

The four cycles that can be traced show how much the window moves:

The window is short once it opens: the 2025-26 letter was signed on 12 November and the lock date was 25 November, thirteen days later, and the 2024-25 letter, signed in the first week of October, gave schools until 31 October. The portal's news log last carried an Aapki Beti Yojana notice for 2023-24, when the school lock process opened on 22 August 2023; the 2024-25 and 2025-26 windows were announced by circular alone, so for 2026-27 the thing to watch for is the circular reaching the school, not a news-log entry, and late October or November is the likely lock date until it arrives (Shala Darpan Beneficiary Scheme Portal; Foundation circular, October 2024; Foundation circular, November 2025; Rajasthan Patrika, 13 November 2025).

The scheme is for a girl who is a native of Rajasthan, studies in Class 1 to 12 in a government school in the state, comes from a family living below the poverty line (BPL), and has lost her mother, her father, or both. All four conditions apply together: a BPL girl with both parents living, or an orphaned girl in a private or aided school, is outside it (myScheme record; Foundation circular, November 2025).

In practice the test is applied to the school's own records, not to anything the family submits. The Foundation's circular tells schools to complete the girl's student record in Form-9 on Shala Darpan and then to select her, class by class, under the "BPL" and "Orphan/Single Parent" categories in the section for mandatory student information for beneficiary schemes. A girl whose Form-9 does not carry both flags never appears in the scheme's list, however eligible she is on paper, so the first thing a guardian should check with the school is whether both flags are set (Foundation circular, October 2024).

Jan Aadhaar is part of eligibility in effect. The money moves by DBT to the bank account linked to the Jan Aadhaar of the family head or of the girl herself, and the circular makes Jan Aadhaar verification on Shala Darpan a precondition to submitting the list. The circular is addressed to the district education officers (headquarters) for elementary and secondary education and copied, among others, to the Director of Sanskrit Education, Jaipur; whether that brings girls in government Sanskrit schools inside the scheme is not spelled out, and the school is the place to ask (Foundation circular, November 2025).

Neither myScheme nor the Foundation's circular publishes an exclusion list for Aapki Beti Yojana. What excludes a girl in practice is the mirror of the eligibility tests: a private or aided school, a family that is not BPL on the record, both parents living, a student record without the BPL and Orphan/Single Parent flags in Form-9, and a Jan Aadhaar that has not been verified on Shala Darpan, since the list is not to be submitted before that verification. The circular is silent on a girl who also draws another scholarship and on how many daughters of one family may be covered; silent is not the same as permitted, so ask the school rather than assume (Foundation circular, November 2025; myScheme record).

A family never files renewal paperwork under Aapki Beti Yojana. The Foundation issues a fresh circular each session, most recently in October 2024 and November 2025, and every government school rebuilds and locks its list of eligible girls for that session on the Beneficiary Scheme Portal; that yearly re-proposal by the school is the re-application the myScheme FAQ refers to. Each list is built afresh from the BPL and Orphan/Single Parent flags, so a girl who stays in a government school up to Class 12 with those flags in place should reappear on it every session, and she moves from the Rs 2,100 slab to the Rs 2,500 slab in the session she enters Class 9 (Foundation circular, October 2024; Foundation circular, November 2025; Shala Darpan Beneficiary Scheme Portal).

The award is a flat annual sum by class band, paid each session by DBT; how many instalments it comes in is not stated. The Foundation's description names nothing else: no fee reimbursement, no book or uniform grant, no bonus for marks. The two slabs are:

The amounts are identical on the Foundation's scheme page, on the Beneficiary Scheme Portal and in the October 2024 and November 2025 circulars, so nothing changed between the two letters. Set against the Foundation's other awards, Rs 2,100 is below the Rs 3,000 a year that Gargi Puraskar pays a girl in Class 11 and 12 who scored 75% or more in Class 10, and below the Rs 5,000 that Balika Protsahan pays once for 75% or more in Class 12; the two disability awards pay Rs 2,000 in Class 1 to 8 and Rs 5,000 in Class 9 to 12 (Balika Shiksha Foundation, scheme list).

When the money lands is not published. The circulars fix only the dates by which schools lock and DEOs verify the list; the Foundation prints no disbursement date, and the portal card gives totals, not a payment calendar (Shala Darpan Beneficiary Scheme Portal).

The documents go to the school, not to a portal. The family shows the death certificate of the parent or parents, the BPL card or certificate, and the Jan Aadhaar card of the family head or the girl, and the school uses them to set the Orphan/Single Parent and BPL flags and to enter the Jan Aadhaar number in the girl's Form-9 record. A passbook of the bank account linked to that Jan Aadhaar matters more than it looks, because the DBT goes to whichever account Jan Aadhaar points at; the circular allows either the family head's or the girl's own Jan Aadhaar-linked account (myScheme record; Foundation circular, November 2025).

The photograph, identity proof and educational certificates on myScheme's document list are the ordinary contents of a Shala Darpan student record rather than scheme-specific uploads, and the family uploads nothing anywhere; every entry is made from the school login (myScheme record).

There is no application form for a family to fill, online or on paper. The parent or guardian contacts the girl's government school, and everything after that happens on Shala Darpan, first from the school's login and then from the district education officer's (myScheme record; Foundation circular, November 2025).

The circular sets out the school's side in four steps, all on the Shala Darpan Beneficiary Scheme Portal (Foundation circular, October 2024):

1. Complete the girl's details in Form-9, the student details entry form, under the Student tab of the Shala Darpan school login.
2. In the same tab, open the mandatory student information for beneficiary schemes, select the eligible girls class by class under the BPL and Orphan/Single Parent categories, and submit.
3. Open the Beneficiary Scheme Portal from the school login, select the scheme, and approve and lock the list of girls it displays.
4. The locked list appears on the DEO office login, elementary or secondary, on the Beneficiary Scheme Portal, where the DEO makes the final submission with an OTP.

Before the list is submitted, the girls' Jan Aadhaar numbers must be verified on Shala Darpan, because the payment is a DBT to the Jan Aadhaar-linked account. What the family can do is limited but useful: confirm with the class teacher, before the lock date, that the girl's record shows BPL and Orphan/Single Parent, that her Jan Aadhaar number is entered and verified, and that the bank account linked to that Jan Aadhaar is live. Once the school has locked the list, the session's proposal is out of the school's hands, and after the DEO's deadline the portal treats the locked data as verified even if the DEO office has not acted (Foundation circular, November 2025).

There is no merit ranking, no interview and no quota. Every girl the school selects under both categories, locks, and the DEO submits is a beneficiary; the only sieve is the record itself and the Jan Aadhaar verification. The circular adds one rule that works in the family's favour: if the DEO office has not verified the locked data by its deadline, the data is treated as verified automatically, so a slow district office does not cost the girl her payment (Foundation circular, November 2025).

The scheme has no standalone terms document; the conditions are the ones the circular and the myScheme record carry. The proposal is the school's, locked from the school login, and verified from the DEO office login by OTP, with automatic verification if the DEO misses the deadline. The payment is a DBT into the bank account linked to the Jan Aadhaar of the family head or the girl, and it is not processed until that Jan Aadhaar is verified on Shala Darpan. Each session is proposed afresh. What happens if the girl changes school mid-session, repeats a class, or moves from a government school to a private one is not written down in the circulars or on the Foundation's scheme page, and the school or the Foundation's helpline is the place to ask (Foundation circular, November 2025; myScheme record).
