Overview

About AFACPECP

Additional Financial Assistance for the Children of Persons Engaged in the Cleaning Profession is a Rajasthan state scholarship run by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department. It sits on top of the state's Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme, adding ₹500 a month, for up to ten months in a year, for students whose parent or guardian earns a living in cleaning or sanitation work.

The support is a top-up rather than a standalone award. A student receives it only while they hold, or qualify for, a post-matric scholarship, which ties the assistance to continuing in a recognised course after Class 10. The intent is to keep these students in education by easing the recurring cost of study for families in sanitation work.

Eligibility has two conditions that both have to hold. The parent or guardian must be engaged in the cleaning or sanitation profession, evidenced by a certificate of that employment, and the student must belong to a Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Class or Economically Backward Class, backed by a caste certificate. Applications are made online through the state scholarship system, and a student reapplies each year with updated documents. The scheme is also listed on the national myScheme portal, which the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology maintains.
