Overview

About TCE-SC

Top Class Education for Scheduled Caste Students is a Central Sector scholarship run by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, under the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. You apply through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), the government's common platform for centrally funded scholarships.

The scheme supports quality education among Scheduled Caste students, funding studies beyond Class 12. It applies only at a set of institutions notified by the ministry, which include the IITs, NITs and IIMs alongside listed medical, law and other institutes. It covers the tuition fee and non-refundable charges at the institution, along with an allowance for the student's academic and living expenses.

It is for students from Scheduled Caste communities who secure admission to one of the notified institutions. Whether you qualify turns on that admission and on the income ceiling and course conditions the ministry sets.
