Travel Grant Scheme for College Teachers/Vice Chancellors/Commission Members(TGSCTVCCM)
Overview
About TGSCTVCCM
The Travel Grant Scheme for College Teachers, Vice-Chancellors and Commission Members is a central scheme administered by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the statutory body under the Department of Higher Education. It gives eligible academics financial assistance to travel abroad and present research papers at international conferences.
Support is directed at the individual, not the institution. Permanent college teachers and the vice-chancellors of state universities, deemed-to-be universities and central universities can apply, provided their university is recognised under sections 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act. The grant is paid as cash towards the cost of attending and presenting at a conference held outside India.
A typical applicant is an Indian college teacher or university head whose paper has been accepted at an overseas conference and who needs help meeting the cost of going. It is one of the ways the UGC supports Indian scholars in taking their research to international academic forums.
