Thayi Magu Sahaya Hastha is a welfare scheme of the Karnataka Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (KBOCWWB), which works under the Department of Labour, Government of Karnataka. It pays cash assistance to registered women construction workers to help with the pre-school education and nutrition of their young child in the years after childbirth.
The benefit is a direct cash transfer. It is paid as a recurring monthly amount rather than as a service or a reimbursement, and it continues for up to three years after delivery.
The scheme is meant for women registered as construction workers with the board in Karnataka who have recently given birth. Support covers a limited number of children, and a worker has to apply within a set period after delivery.
