Prabhuddha Overseas Scholarship(Pdos)
Overview
About Pdos
The Prabhuddha Overseas Scholarship is run by the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Karnataka. It gives financial assistance to students from the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities in Karnataka who have secured admission to full-time higher education at a foreign university.
The benefit is a cash award meant to help cover the cost of studying abroad, across undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes. It is open to permanent residents of Karnataka from SC and ST communities who meet the age and academic requirements set for their course level, and a share of the seats is reserved for women and for persons with disabilities.
How much support you receive scales with your family income, which the scheme applies in slabs to decide the share of the cost it will meet. The academic marks fixed for each course level are an eligibility threshold you have to clear, not a factor in the size of the award. The exact income slabs, seat numbers and qualifying marks are listed in the scheme's official record, and you should confirm them there before applying.
