Training Assistance for Competitive Examinations(TAFCE)
Overview
About TAFCE
Training Assistance for Competitive Examinations is a Gujarat state scheme for students of the non-reserved (unreserved) category who are paying to train for competitive recruitment examinations. The benefit is cash assistance towards the coaching fees a student pays to a recognised training institution.
The scheme is run by the Gujarat Unreserved Educational and Economical Development Corporation (GUEEDC), the state corporation that delivers educational and economic support to unreserved-category residents. GUEEDC works under the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Gujarat, and applications are made through the corporation's online portal.
It is meant for unreserved-category candidates preparing for national and state recruitment examinations, including those conducted by bodies such as UPSC and GPSC and for posts in banking, the railways and Gujarat's own service selection processes. The aim is to lower what a student pays out of pocket for coaching, so cost is a smaller obstacle to sitting these exams.
The income ceiling, eligibility and the exact assistance amount are set by GUEEDC. Check those criteria and the current application window on the official portal before you apply.
