Overview

About STADSPECM

The Subsistence and Transport Allowance to Disabled Students for Pursuing Education in Computer and Management is a state scheme of the Higher Education Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh. It supports students with disabilities from the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories who are studying a computer or management course at a government college in the state.

The scheme reimburses the fees charged for these courses and adds two monthly allowances: a subsistence allowance of Rs 1,500 toward living costs, and a transport allowance for travel to and from college set at Rs 500 a month in Municipal Corporation areas and Rs 300 in Municipal Council areas. The money is paid into the student's own bank account, so the benefit reaches the individual rather than the institution.

To qualify, an applicant must be a native of Madhya Pradesh and hold a disability certificate, and the annual income of the parents or guardians must not exceed Rs 1,00,000. The Directorate of Higher Education advertises the scheme each year, applications are examined by the concerned Regional Additional Director, and about 2,000 students can be supported in a year.
