Overview

About SSYMP

The Sudama Shishyavritti Scheme is a scholarship run by the School Education Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, for students in Class 11 and Class 12. It is administered through the state's Shiksha Portal, which the department uses to hold student records and route benefit payments.

The scheme is aimed at students from Below Poverty Line families who study in government schools and live in a hostel, so that the cost of staying on for senior secondary school is less likely to push them out. The benefit is a cash scholarship paid once a year and credited directly to the student's bank account, with girls receiving a marginally higher amount than boys.

Eligibility is narrow: it covers hostel-residing Class 11 and 12 students in government schools whose families fall in the BPL category and whose annual household income stays below the state's threshold. Students apply through their school, where teachers enter the required details on the Shiksha Portal for verification before the amount is released.
