About SFGCS
The Sudakshya for Girls Child Scholarship is a state scholarship run by the Skill Development and Technical Education Department, Government of Odisha. It supports girl students pursuing technical education in the state, and the benefit is paid in cash.
The scheme is meant for girls enrolled in ITI or ITC, polytechnic and diploma courses at government or government-recognised institutions in Odisha. Applicants have to be permanent residents of the state, and it is open to girl students across the General, SC, ST, OBC, SEBC and EBC categories, subject to the department's eligibility conditions.
Its purpose is to raise girls' enrolment in technical education and to reduce the dropout rate by easing the cost of studying. Support comes as a monthly maintenance allowance, set at different rates for hostellers and day scholars, alongside reimbursement of course-related fees such as tuition, admission and examination charges. The exact amounts and the full eligibility rules are fixed by the department.

What you get
Award & benefits
- Reimbursement of Admission and Hostel Fee.
- Maintenance Allowances will be given of ₹1,500/- per month for Hostellers and ₹500/- for Day Scholars.
- Reimbursable cost of uniform ₹3,000/-.
- Maintenance Allowances ₹1,000/- per month for Apprenticeship Training after ITI inside the state and ₹1,500/- per month for outside the state.
- One Month Maintenance Allowances of ₹5,000/- after completion of 6 months on Jobs outside the State.
- Note 01: Benefits will be directly transferred to the bank account of the student.
- Note 02: Maintenance Allowances shall be released on a half-yearly basis.
- Note 03: ST, SC, OBC, Minority, Children of BOC Workers, PwD, MCP, Merit, and other stipend/scholarship holders will get differential amounts only.
