Overview

About SSOCSC

The State Scholarship of Class 1st to 5th (Scheduled Caste) is a pre-matric scholarship of the Government of Madhya Pradesh for children from Scheduled Caste families in the primary stage of school. It is administered through the state's scheduled caste welfare department and is paid to the student as a cash award.

The scheme supports Scheduled Caste students studying in classes 1 to 5 in Madhya Pradesh. It is an individual benefit, so the assistance is granted to the eligible student rather than to a school or a group, and eligibility and the amount are set by the state for each applicant who qualifies.

The award is one of several caste-based welfare and scholarship measures that Madhya Pradesh runs through its tribal and scheduled caste welfare administration. Its purpose is to help Scheduled Caste children continue in school from the earliest classes onward.
