Schemes for welfare of School Children belonging to BPL and BC(A) families: Monthly Stipend for BPL Students(WCBPLS)
Overview
About WCBPLS
This is a Haryana state scheme run by the School Education Department, Government of Haryana. It sits under an umbrella programme for the welfare of school children from Below Poverty Line (BPL) and Backward Class (A) families, and this component covers the monthly stipend paid to BPL students.
The benefit is cash. A monthly stipend is paid to eligible students, with the amount set by class level. The aim is to ease the everyday cost of schooling so that children from BPL families stay enrolled and continue their studies.
It is meant for students in classes 1 to 12 who study in Haryana Government schools and belong to BPL families. Detailed stipend rates, attendance conditions and the application route are listed in the eligibility and benefits sections below.
